At the Bridge, we believe that making wholistic disciples requires multiple environments. Our philsophy comes directly from Luke 10:27, where we are told to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind," and "your neighbor as yourself." Therefore, our entire philsophy is predicated on giving those that belong to our tribe the opportunity to grow in each of those areas.
Heart Care: We choose to utilize our Sunday morning worship service as an opportunity to provide heart care. Following our time of teaching and praise each week, we offer unique environments for our congregation to minister to share one another's burdens by ministering to one another. This can take on different forms at different times. It is common for us to offer time of response, offer baptism services, communion services, prayer for one another, footwashing, and other special service designed to specifically care for one another's hearts.
Soul Care: We utilize our life-stage hangouts for soul care. These environments are specifically designed to facilitate a depth of relationship with one another, where we can truly enjoy one another. Following Jesus isn't always easy, but it should be life-giving, and at times quite enjoyable as well! Our life-stage hangouts help us minsiter to the soul of those in our church family.
Strength Care: We believe that each person has a unique gift and calling that God has given them. These gifts should be exercised in the local church, for the Glory of God and the Growth of the believer. As such, we offer five distinct serve teams, so that each person in our family has a dedicated space, and team, where they can develop and deploy their gifts.
Mind Care: Our Sunday Circles are the environment where we interact with the biblical text. If we don't understand the text, we will struggle to appropriately apply the text. We also have other environments, such as our Disciples Making Disciples Training, where we specifically aim to equip one another with a strong process for appropriately discerning the meaning of the biblical text.
Neighbor Care: In addition to the aforementioned enviroments, we also utilize the Alpha program as a way that we can engage with, and invite our unbeliving or seeking neighbors into an enviroment specifically for them, where they can feel safe exploring the Christian Faith.
While each persons journey with Jesus is unique, we believe that by investing corporately in these unique yet specific environments, we can help facilitate the wholistic development and growth of followers of Jesus. We believe firmly that we are all called to participate in disciple-making together.
